Tuk Smith & The Restless Hearts have released their first single in over a year and 'Take The Long Way' shows the groups fresh and evolved sound. Smith may have had a rough couple of years with being kicked off the 2021 Motley Crue stadium tour and being dropped by both his label and booking agent during the COVID era, but that hasn't stopped him. This new track draws inspiration from when things weren't looking good and delivers this self-sabotage meets redemption tale. 'Take The Long Way' appears to tell the tale of a guy who it hasn't been easy for but he's on the right track now. This is a song with personality, from the little cough at the start and the first note of guitar you know you are listening to a hit. I personally am a huge fan of Tuk Smith & The Restless Hearts so it's no surprise that I love this song. It's got the typical 70's and 80's rock nod that you can find in almost all of Tuk Smith's discography but this one's definitely something new. The chorus is stadium worthy, and the song has a fresh and bright energy. 'Take The Long Way' is infectious and begs you to listen again and again. I can't recommend this song enough, if you're in a low mood stick this on and you'll be smiling in no time.
