Scottish rock band The Painting shed the alt-rock gloom for their summer anthem 'Imprint'.

The Painting have released their first track of 2025, the light feeling 'Imprint' is taken from the bands upcoming album 'Before The Rain'. Officially forming as The Painting in 2024, the Scottish group previously known as Arcade State have released a dozen singles, an EP and a full-length album. Most of which came under the previous moniker. The Painting are now gearing up to release their brand new album which is set for release in October of this year.
'Imprint' is about the tough parts of a relationship nearing its end where something that the other person has done in the relationship really sticks in your mind and starts to cause cracks."
With a pop-rock vibe to it this track sees The Painting step into the light for the summer. The almost Fleetwood Mac type feel to it gives 'Imprint' an almost whimsical energy that's woven throughout. The Painting are known for their massive chorus's and this one is no different it just is done in a bit of a brighter way. This is the bands first release from the new album and I'm excited to see if they keep heading in this new direction or where the rest of the album will take us.
