Indie rock quartet The Ultra Violets explore the dark side of social media with new single 'HONEYPIE'.

Cornish indie rockers The Ultra Violets have released their confident new track 'HONEYPIE'. Known for their vibrant performances the quartet that formed back in 2020 have been seen at some of the UK's most renowned festivals. Having played slots at the likes of Boardmasters, Y Not?, and Isle of Wight, alongside supporting artists like The Libertines, McFly, The Lottery Winners, Red Rum Club and Feeder, The Ultra Violets are making their name as an exciting up and coming act in the indie scene. Brand new single 'HONEYPIE' takes on some of the darker themes surrounding social media.
"This song is essentially about people only wanting the sweet stuff in life, and sugar coating anything and everything that may be a difficult subject. We live in a society where social media is treated like the Holy Bible, simultaneously releasing dopamine hits, a highly addictive drug, when posting pictures for 'instant gratification'". - (The Ultra Violets)
'HONEYPIE' is a track with swagger, opening with a confident fuzzy riff which is soon joined by the strong gravelly vocal that takes over command. There's an addictive quality to the track especially in the sweetness of the chorus that directly contradicts the rough edged verses. I hadn't had a chance to check out The Ultra Violets before this release, but I'm happy this one landed in my inbox. 'HONEYPIE' is the perfect mix of modern day indie with a large dose of punky alt rock making it a track I will be returning to listen to again.
