Taxi Rank deliver a slicker, defined sound with their new single 'Animal'
Swansea newcomers Taxi Rank have released their first single of 2022 'Animal. The new track shows off the bands new slicker, defined sound. Taxi Rank were first formed in 2018. The Swansea based group released some original demos and a King Krule cover which cemented the band as a favourite in their hometown gigging circuit. Previous singles from Taxi Rank have seen them played on Amazing Radio and BBC Radio Wales. Taxi Rank have been recently working with producer and fellow Welsh musician Tom Rees (Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard). With the help of Rees they have carved a sharper sound but they haven't lost their signature heavy drums and cool riffs. 'Animal' gives us a taste of the new Taxi Rank and honestly I'm very excited to see where they go with this more grown up feeling, slick sound.

Taxi Rank are a band I have been seriously excited about since I heard 'Can You Admit That?' and I believe I have called them a band to watch out for before, and that still stands. I was completely blown away by this new sound these guys are showing off with 'Animal'. From the guitars that grow and grow, the heavy drums and smooth vocals this song is definitely addictive and very different from the slightly more chaotic sound we have heard from Taxi Rank before. 'Animal' feels refined, and for me this is a really great track that I have already been blasting on repeat. There's no better word I could find to describe this song than smooth, it just flows so naturally and is one I highly recommend any music lover goes and gives a listen to.
