Following on from the success of return single 'Do You Feel Numb?', Strange Company drop their next track 'Waves'.

Known for blending high-energy emo-punk with emotionally charged modern rock, Strange Company fuse nostalgic with contemporary creating a sound that is familair yet fiercely fresh. Sitting somewhere between post-hardcore and post-rock unique new track 'Waves' sees Strange Company explore darker elements of their sound.

"Sonically 'Waves' ended up on the darker and more atmospheric side of our spectrum. When I frist wrote the bare bones of the song, I was listening to a lot of Citizen, which definitely came through in the emo-leaning feel of the original demo. Once I took it to the boys, though, every element of the song seemed to get heavier. We added delayed guitars, swelling textures and echoed vocals, which transformed it into a much denser, more evolving soundscape. Alef and I have always had a real love for shoegaze, and I think that comes through pretty clearly in the final mix. It's been really interesting hearing that version alongside the original demo and seeing how far the song evolved" - (Owen Weston, Guitar, Strange Company)

The very modern leaning track builds a huge atmosphere that definitely feels darker and almost melancholic at times compared to what I have heard previously from Strange Company. The weight of the track seems to hold it steady as the textures grow around everything eventually becoming a song that blooms into it's heaviness. I am actually really intrigued by what Strange Company have created with this one and I recommend if you haven't already that you go give it a listen.
