Halflives return with their heaviest track yet 'Unshattered'
After eighteen months Halflives begin their new chapter with 'Unshattered'. Halflives make music for the broken and the misfits, fusing alt-rock emo, metal and dark electronic elements to create their heavy, hook-driven anthems. Since their beginning in 2016 the act have spent years touring the UK and Europe, with both headline appearances and supporting acts like Palaye Royale and Against The Current. Now with new single 'Unshattered' Halflives lean into something heavier than we've seen from them before.
"'Unshattered' came from a place of feeling like I wasn't enough. I think that's something a lot of us experience today. We're constantly surrounded by other people's achievements, especially on social media, where everyone seems to be winning and reaching new milestones. When you're already struggling, it's easy to fall into the trap of comparing yourself and feeling like you're falling behind. I think that's also very true in the music industry. There are moments where you're in between chapters, when things are quiter, and it feels like everyone else is moving forward while you're standing still. This new chapter from Halflives sees them lean into something heavier even including some screams into the dreamy feeling track. I am a big fan of the light electronics used throughout the alternative piece that feels super modern.
