Mouth Culture brought high energy, feels and more when they played Glasgows G2.

Monday gigs are always a hit or a miss I find as most people have just started their work week and probably just want to be in their beds. However, this night at G2 the crowds really turned up ready to give their all. With three bands that I would say have quite a different vibe from one another, Heart Sauce, Beauty School and Mouth Culture all entertained with their shows. First up was the vibey Heart Sauce. Before heading to the show I listened to the pop leaning act and had wandered how their chilled sort of sound would fit as openers for the high intensity of Mouth Culture.

While Heart Sauce don't jump around the stage or have any gimmicks their music speaks for itself creating a captivating soundscape. I found myself quickly getting lost in their intricate melodies and the little pop-punk edges that don't come across in their recorded sounds. My favourite thing from this band was when they delivered their big instrumental moments within songs, each artist on stage clearly getting lost inside their own music and something about that just made me want to listen and watch even more.

Second act of the night was the super fun Beauty School, drawing from classic pop-punk sounds but adding their own slightly heavier edge to it at times this is a band I'd never heard before this night and I'm now very happy I've discovered.

It seemed I was one of few people who didn't know them as the now hyped up crowd were eager to sing-a-long with about every song word for word. This was the first point in the night where I felt the atmosphere change in G2 and at some point during Beauty School's set there became a buzz in the air as people from the front to back bounced along. Whether you go for the catchy songs, edgy pop-punk vibes or the great energy Beauty School bring I'd recommend seeing them live, I definitely will be again!

When it came time for headliners Mouth Culture I knew to expect a high energy set after seeing them play at festivals before, however festival sets don't capture the raw energy that radiates from the band when they play in a smaller setting. Whether playing hits like 'Don't Pull Up' or recently released tracks it felt as though every single person in the room really knew every word and was ready to give back more than even the band were putting out (and they were giving their all).

It's no surprise to me that Mouth Culture are taking their space as one of the most likely bands to blow up at the minute. They have the look of a alt rock band complete with all the swagger, their songs are stupidly catchy and on top of this, especially during the set, this is a band that make everyone in the room feel like their best friends rather than just a fan. I'm so excited to keep following Mouth Culture on their journey and if you get a chance to head to one of their shows I can guarantee that you will have so much fun.
