downcast release brand new single 'nothing left to give' featuring Jessie from Dream State, as well as announcing new EP of the same name.

downcast release their hard hitting new single 'nothing left to give' which also features Jessie from Dream State. The alt rock/emo group have been making their mark on the scene. Early on they carved an impressive reputation locally and more recently they have been noticed by popular editorials, radio stations and more. New single 'nothing left to give' comes ahead of their EP of the same name and the song contains some of the darkest lyrics that downcast have put out.
"This song is about how the constant struggles of life have, at times, left me feeling unrecognisable to myself. I find that the modern expectations of us as humans can often feel comparable to selling your soul. Life moves so fast that you rarely get a chance to pause and reflect, but during the times that I've been able to do so, I've often found myself asking "what am I even doing it for?" The lyrics explore the mental spaces that my brain has taken me when I've been feeling low. Often during these moments, even places that once felt like home and brought me comfort have left me feeling like I don't belong." - (Liam Edwards, Vocalist, downcast)
Dipping into a nu metal genre downcasts "British take on midwestern emo" sound takes a darker turn in new single 'nothing left to give'. Between the chugs of the guitars and the soaring intensity of the vocals this is a track that is lyrically designed to hit you in the feels. Having Jessie from Dream State feature adds an even darker element, her vocal coming in like something demonic contrasting the more emotional grit of downcast singer Liam Edwards. downcast are a band that I hadn't heard before this single and I'm happy this is the first one I got to check out it's mammoth size has me wanting to come back again and again for more.
