On the 27th of October Kira Mac and support act The Dead Collective filled Classic Grand with big rock fueled performances.

Going to a gig without having previously heard of the acts performing is one of the most exciting things because you really have no idea if you're going to love or hate it. This was very much the case when I attended Kira Macs headline show in Glasgow. Yet from the minute huge sounding openers The Dead Collective began right through to when Kira Mac left the stage I could barely take my eyes away. So to answer I loved it!

Kicking off the night was the bluesy edged rock tones of The Dead Collective. The stage filled with smoke did little to hide the absolute electric power that radiated off them. With each song the group drew me into their sound further and further. Seeming to pull hard rock sounds from all across the genre and putting that together with an uncontainable stage presence I immediately was checking where these guys are putting on their next show near me.

Whether you go for the softer yet captivating vocal moments, the huge riffs, or the overall explosion of rock n roll energy, The Dead Collective are a band you should have on your list to go and see.

By the time headliners Kira Mac took their place, Classic Grand had filled up and as it was a Saturday people were ready to party. Too be honest there isn't much better bands to party with on a weekend than these guys. Much like the openers they have a large hard rock sound that wouldn't feel out of place in a dirty dive bar, yet they also feel very modern. Even though she may not have been feeling 100% frontwoman Rhiannon barely let it show for a second, ready to party at every minute and with the rest of Kira Mac deliver a show people wouldn't easily forget.

Whether playing fan favourite's or new songs there was always people in the crowd dancing and having a great time, as were the band in front of them. Kira Mac's rough soulful fired rock sound is combined with a metalcore like edge and they act like a group that just belong together delivering their unique take on the alternative side of music. On top of this they aren't afraid to be silly together on stage, making little jokes about being weirdo's or just generally dancing around and having a great time. I always think bands like this that put on high energy sets where it feels like they are out there to not only perform but actually to just enjoy their music and what they do is very infectious. If they're in the area and I want to go out and have a good time, I know I'll be heading to a Kira Mac show.
