Self-proclaimed "Dirtbags from the North" Waterlines bring their new metal rave anthem 'Giant Killers'.
Waterlines release their next metal rave anthem 'Giant Killers' and announce new bassist Joe Morton. The act formed in late 2022 and since then have been bringing the party wherever they go with their EDM and Synthwave laced metalcore. New single 'Giant Killers' marks the first new music from the band in over a year and is the start of many new songs to come from the band.
"I wrote 'Giant Killers' as a love letter to my friends and equals in the scene. I've seen blood and sweat poured into shows at 100 cap venues that would knock the teeth out of most arena bands. On any given day there is an unknown band out there, giving their tiny fan population everything they've fucking got, and every now and then one of us might get the opportunity to prove it, and prove that we are more than the sum of our parts. It's an ode to the undergorund, the bands who graft and never get the break, the countless hours behind the scenes for a shot at the one social post that goes viral. With 'Giant Killers' Waterlines bring a track that is bright and dancey but with a metalcore bite, think Electric Callboy but more vicious. The verses carry the weight with crushing metalcore heaviness especially in the vocals while the chorus leans into something more melodic and dancey. If like me you love a boogie but also a nasty breakdown then this is the song for you. Hearing this single the main takeaway I have is that I need to see this band live!
