FOXHAUNT - Absolution
FOXHAUNT return with brand new nu-metal leaning single 'Absolution'.
FOXHAUNT dive deeper into new levels of their sound with their single 'Absolution'. The Leeds alt-rock/metalcore group have become known for their emo vocals, heavy guitars and nu-metal groove. New single 'Absolution' sees FOXHAUNT welcome not only new drummer Tom Beverley (formerley Broken Narrative) but also a heavier sound that feels straight out of a Linkin Park album.
"'Absolution' is about the weight of living in a world shaped by people in power who seem completely detached from the consequences of their decisions. It comes from the frustration of watching greed, self-interest and a lack of compassion take priority over the lives of the people they're supposed to serve. The chorus plays with the idea of judgement and a power greater than any position of authority. However untouchable these people might seem in this life, there's something strangely comforting in the thought that one day they may have to answer for the damage they've caused. In the end, no amount of power can gaurantee forgiveness and there may be no absolution waiting for them." (FOXHAUNT)
'Absolution' is easily one of my favourite FOXHAUNT tracks to date, I am loving the nu-metal lean and with a mix of vocals, powerful guitars that have a bite and addictive melodies throughout I think this is the quartets strongest release to date. I know FOXHAUNT were steadily heading in a more heavy direction but this single proves that these guys really can push into that nu-metal genre and pull it off amazingly.
