Amidst many appearances across the festival circuit this summer, fast rising heavy metal act Defects have dropped their new single 'Heresy'.

Defects deliver a brutal confrontation with blind faith and false hope on their new track 'Heresy'. The five-piece have spent their summer touring across Europe, having been seen at many renowned festivals including Slam Dunk (UK), where they debuted the new track to a phenomenal response. The new single is Defects first release since last years breakthrough debut album 'Modern Error', which saw them take the stage at the likes of Download Festival and Graspop in Belgium. The group have also performed alongside artists like Of Mice and Men, Orbit Culture and Funeral for a Friend. New track 'Heresy' is an unrelenting exorcism of the soul, which rages at false promises.
"'Heresy' is a brutal confrontation with blind faith and false hope - a soaring anthem for anyone fed up with being lied to. It doesn't hold back, warning of the silence that follows empty promises and chaos that comes from unquestioned belief. Every lyric is a cry for accountability and justice." - (Tony Maue, Vocalist, Defects)
'Heresy' opens with a spirited riff that seems to drive a bit of fun energy into the brutal heavy track, this is quickly met with the vocals growling "Let's go" which fully kicks the single into action. Throughout it never loses that high spirited energy but it becomes something fuller that packs a punch. The mammoth sized track definitely doesn't hold back, whether it's in the big growls or the more rock leaning melody of the chorus. I can easily imagine how this ones grabbing people's attention during Defects live set and I can see 'Heresy' bringing the metal five-piece many new fans.
