Blank Atlas take on a riffy hardcore persona with their new single 'If You Can't Beat Them, Join Them.'
Blank Atlas's new single 'If You Can't Beat Them, Join Them' sees the three-piece tackle the hardcore genre in their own way. It's been a busy year for Blank Atlas and the Bristol lads are rounding up the year in style, the three-piece have just completed their six date UK tour but ahead of that they released their brand new single 'If You Can't Beat Them, Join Them'.
"We wanted to put something out that felt really different to our last album, heavier, punkier, weirder. We thought that it maybe sounded a bit too hardcore punk for our usual stuff, but that's a really thriving scene at the moment, so we joked that if you can't beat them, join them." - (Chris Simpson, Bass)
At under two-minutes long Blank Atlas manage to cram all their hardcore weirdness into 'If You Can't Beat Them, Join Them'. Hardcore riffs that'll have you headbanging combined with pop-like harmonies, there's no better words to describe this track than weird and different, the synth that attacks you at the start, as if giving birth to this new sound really begins this piece as it means to go on. This is one I could ramble about for a while but to sum it up, it's really good whether you like this bands alt-rock stuff or you're more of a hardcore fan like me. I found myself smiling through it and I honestly just really enjoyed the energy and hearing how talented these three are.
