Unpacking feelings of losing a loved one, Palejoy's new single 'I Bet Heaven Isn't Real At All' is written after the loss of singer and guitarist Dale's Grandfather.
On the 8th of November, Aberdeen based emo trio Palejoy released their newest single 'I Bet Heaven Isn't Real At All'. Pulling from personal experience the Scottish three-piece create a vulnerable emo sound. Delivering raw emotion the band have been busy playing shows across Scotland, including their very own sold out headline show. Based around themes of sadness, anger and self-loathing, 'I Bet Heaven Isn't Real At All' was written after the death of Palejoy member Dale's Grandfather. Packed with emo intensity and a DIY sound, this single is strongly emotive, as if giving the feeling of that moment just before a breakdown. It's heavy and raw, the crashing drums power the track with energy while the vocals and guitar deliver a more stirring melody. It's clearly a very vulnerable track and their DIY style suits that vulnerability letting listeners feel closer to the band and the feelings they're conveying. If you're a fan of bands like Basement, Microwave and Hot Mulligan then Palejoy's new single is one to add to your playlists.
