Atheana - Burden

Manchester duo Atheana welcome a new era with 'Burden'.

Alt metalcore duo Atheana are entering their new era with a brand new single 'Burden', the track comes as an anthem for those that feel like they're looking for somewhere to belong. It's been an uncertain couple of years for Atheana, amongst writing and touring they've seen multiple line-up changes. However through relentless determination duo Soph Payton and Ross Jubber bring in the new era. New single 'Burden' is a vulnerable take on not feeling like you've found where you belong.

"'Burden' is an ode to those who are still searching for somewhere to belong; for anyone who has ever felt like they are too much while simultaneously not enough. Exploring intense themes of mental illness and loneliness. It's a song that is really close to our hearts as it permeates new vulnerable territory." - (Soph Payton, Vocalist, Atheana)

With an almost 2000's nostalgic take on the metalcore genre, Atheana bring something that is in your face raw and vulnerable with 'Burden'. The sweet melody of the vocal almost hides the hurt within the lyrics while the guitars deliver big but emotion fueled riffs. As the track moves on the harsher vocals seem to serve as a moment of complete vulnerability as the lyrics are no longer hiding behind that sugary melody. 'Burden' allows for a moment of deep reflection while listening and not only is it lyrically powerful but it sounds great and it has me very excited for Atheana's new era.
