MAYA - Maturity

Dreamy in sound but sharp in perspective, new single 'Maturity' from MAYA continues to prove why they are a band to be keeping your ears on in 2026.

MAYA release their dreamy yet mean-spirited anthem 'Maturity'. Declared as 'ones to watch' by Rolling Stone, MAYAlikestorunhermouth or MAYA have been making waves in the scene. The groups introspective alt-rock/post-punk sound has seen them take on impressive sold-out headlines at The Fighting Cocks, Troubadour and Half Moon Putney. The band even saw McFly's Danny Jones call them heirs to the likes of The Hives and Idles. Written years ago new single 'Maturity' captures a specific kind of emotional burnout - the moment where you meet someone new and you already know that you wont stay. The guitar melody and gentler vocals compared to other MAYA tracks brings you into a sort of dreamy story but one that's heavily laced with harsh lyrics that are more fitting to the bitter attitude of the big chorus. While jumping between almost reflective soft moments and the big meaner ones MAYA have managed to capture a sort of detached feeling and a single that furthers them as a band you need on your radar.
