Gallus - MK Des (Miss Out)

Gallus swap out humour for something more personal and reflective with new single 'MK Des (Miss Out)'.

Glasgow punks Gallus reflect on the uncomfortable reality of growing older as everything around you changes with 'MK Des (Miss Out)'.


The new single is one of the most personal pieces on the bands upcoming album 'Life is Bliss', which is set for release 25th September via Marshall Records. While taking its name from a man they met in Milton Keynes while recording their debut album whos stories about missed opportunities stuck with them, 'MK Des (Miss Out) is largely rooted in Glasgow but is relatable for anyone.


"'MK Des' is about looking around and realising that places you thought would always be there aren't anymore. The song is rooted in Glasgow, but it's really about a feeling that a lot of people can relate to. Whether it's a venue, a neighbourhood or a period of your life, everyone has something they're worried about losing. It's one of the more reflective moments on the record." - (Gallus)


While sticking with fun bouncy beats 'MK Des (Miss Out)' is infectious and undeniably a Gallus track but lyrically it speaks of something more personal. Even within the guitars you get a sense of almost something descending or maybe not being as bright as you first thought. Whether more reflective and honest or humourous and unserious like previous single 'Sick Bastards' Gallus know how to entertain an audience with their sound alone. I for one can't wait to hear what the rest of 'Life is Bliss' will bring.


On top of the upcoming album release Gallus are preparing for a busy Autumn with a series of intimate instore performes and signings to go alongside it. As well as this the band will be heading on their biggest UK headline tour to date, kicking off with their largest hometown show at Glasgows Art School.
