Dead Things - Mouth Sewn Shut

Dead Things released their third single 'Mouth Sewn Shut' on the 11th of February which premiered on Sirius XM Octane's Test Drive.

Third single 'Mouth Sewn Shut' from horror-infused metalcore band Dead Things is a great new track with catchy hooks and heavy breakdowns. Created by vocalist Derek Dillon (co-owner of Kleaver Klothing with Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills), Dead Things deliver dramatic tunes with a signature flair for horror. The three piece from Los Angeles are a trio to look out for. For me their music is very reminscent of bands such as Motionless In White and Ice Nine Kills with the dramatic stories, horror aesthetic and heavy breakdowns. The new track 'Mouth Sewn Shut' is honestly a really great song and one I very much enjoyed listening too. I will say when it first began I did think "Oh these guys are a lot like Motionless In White" (an artist I absolutely love) but as the track progressed you begin to hear what makes Dead Things stand out. 'Mouth Sewn Shut' had a couple of hands involved in the recording process including Randy Pasqueralla (Pasqueralla Recordings) and Dan Sugarman (Ice Nine Kills).

"That was some of the most fun I've ever had writing a song. We had the goal of breaking away from common metal tropes but still wanted to keep to the traditions that made us gravitate to the genre since we were young. 'Mouth Sewn Shut' is a melodic and high octane journey seething with disparate undertones." - (Eric Wexler, Guitar/Vocals)

'Mouth Sewn Shut' also comes complete with a music video that is perfect for any horror lover.

Dead Things plan to have new singles dropping every month for the remainder of 2022 with some music videos sprinkled throughout as well. They are also planning to start touring in Autumn and are playing with the idea of writing a full-length album.
