For fans of the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Bottlemoths single 'Landslides (People Change)' comes ahead of their debut album 'Even Us Ghosts'.
'Landslides (People Change)' is Bottlemoth's last single before their debut album which is set for release on the 17th of October 2024. The indie-folk five-piece formed in January of 2024. The former Bridges members have already got a few singles under their belt with this new project including 'Tattoo', 'Always Have Us' and 'Everything Works Out In The End'. The new single was written and produced by the band themselves while Adrian Hall (Tori Amos, Bess Atwell, Nova Twins, Cassia) did the mixing. 'Landslides (People Change)' explores the concept of starting over, returning home and tackling big moments of change.
"Sometimes change is expected, and sometimes it's a surprise. It can be terrifying, though more often than not change can be necessary. The last few years have been a bit of a whirlwind, and I first wrote this song when Chess and I moved back to Somerset from London. It was a real period of reflection and change for the band. We can dwell on things, we can hunker down in a rut. Taking some time to look inward is important, and I can forget that. It's a cool revelation to think we are forever finding ourselves again and again." - (Ethan Proctor, Vocalist & Lyricist)
This single is a bit different from the normal heavier stuff I talk about here. 'Landslides (People Change)' takes a gentle approach to the topic of change. In the verses this one is easily comparable to the sounds of Frightened Rabbit yet the chorus has a bit more of a rock tinge. I am a huge fan of the soft yet powerful guitar melody that carries you through the song, while the stunning vocals ring emotion and deliver thought provoking lyrics. This is a song that will leave you wanting more, and thankfully there's more to come soon with the release of their debut album.
