Blank Atlas drop single 'Same Mistake' ahead of their biggest UK headline tour yet!
Blank Atlas drop their new single 'Same Mistake' which is accompanied by a DIY video that was shot in Tokyo. Taking inspiration from artists ranging anywhere from Meshuggah to McFly, Blank Atlas are an alternative act that have developed their own unique take on the genre. The trio have been playing together since school and over more recent years have shared stages with bands like Holding Absence, Jamie Lenman, Puppy, LostAlone, Fatherson and Dream State just to name a few. New single 'Same Mistake' tackles the habit of running away from your problems rather than facing them.
"I had the whole song written in about 10 minutes. I was messing about on the guitar while watching tv, and it just came out. The song's about the different ways you can not deal with your problems. The lyrics in the chorus is my brain talking to me from a different point of view about how I never learn from my mistakes and instead of facing them, and how I tend to run away from them. It's got a grungy dreamo vibe which I really like, and it's short and sweet!" - (Dan Thould, Guitarist, Blank Atlas)
'Same Mistake' has the same kind of dreamy vibe as sitting in the garden on a sunny day acting in a way as a sort of escape from the problems that face our character. The striking vocal harmonies compliment the dream-like scene and the grunge edge with the catchy melody make this in my opinion one of Blank Atlas's most enjoyable tracks to date.
Blank Atlas will be hitting the road for their biggest UK headline tour to date on November 6th, hitting venues from Glasgow to Falmouth, including a hometown show at Bristol's Cafe Kino.
