UK groove metallers Struck/Down have released their mammoth sized new single 'The Slog'.

Kent based five-piece Struck/Down have released their riffy new single 'The Slog'. Since the release of their debut EP 'From Demons' back in November 2021 Struck/Down have been consistently making waves in the UK metal scene. With appearances at festivals like Bloodstock Open Air and supporting artists like Raging Speedhorn, Struck/Down are making their big metal sound known. In 2023 the band further established themselves in the scene with the release of their second EP 'To Witches' which caught the attention of the likes of Metal Hammer and Emerging Rock Bands. New single 'The Slog' is a large piece that tackles themes of natural strife and some of the obstacles of life.
"The song is from the perspective of someone right on the edge of becoming nothing, and wondering whether it's worth even pulling away from such a conclusion. 'The Slog' references issues with image, self worth, health, disease, and trust in the wrong friends. Everyone's experience is very different, but those that take on the slog of tomorrow are champions in our eyes." - (Struck/Down)
With strong influences from the likes of Mastodon or Killswitch Engage, Struck/Down's monolithic presence is clear in their new single 'The Slog'. The doomy groove riffs matched with massive Metallica esque vocals see this song channel a specific era of metal. 'The Slog' is ferocious, gigantic and drives a new brutal power into the metal scene.
