Krooked Tongue - Marigold

Krooked Tongue take a slight departure from their usual gritty, anthemic rock sound to head in a more stripped back direction with new single 'Marigold'.

Bristol rockers Krooked Tongue explore the 'what could have been's' with new track 'Marigold'. Since the release of their 2022 debut EP 'No Vacancy Hotel', Krooked Tongue have been shaking up the rock scene with their huge fuzz-fueled, gritty sound. Having seen support from the likes of BBC Introducing, Sirius XM and Ones To Watch alongside many festival slots and gigs across the UK, including playing support for Kid Brunswick. Krooked Tongue are continuing to prove why they are one of the most exciting up and coming bands in the scene right now. New single 'Marigold' follows on from February's release 'Let Em Loose' and 2024's 'Ember Mile' and 'Nothing Ever Grows'. These come from a larger body of work which there will be more details to come on soon. The new track takes a step back from the trios usual in your face sound and lyrically thinks about the 'what could have been's'.

"It's a song that tries it's best to put into words the love that lies dormant in us, waiting for someone to break the safety glass. Although I think it's less of a 'love at first sight' cliche and more of a homage to missed opportunities. 'Marigold' is a fascination with the high speed pace of everyday life, and how we ebb and flow into each other periphery... like atoms. Destined to live separately or destined to veer from the main road and see where a chance will take us. Like a flower, that only blossoms when the time is right." - (Oli Rainsford, Vocalist & Lyricist, Krooked Tongue)

Taking a step into something a little different, Krooked Tongue explore more of a bright, summery rock sound with 'Marigold'. Even with this more stripped back vibe the band haven't lost their big chorus energy it's just on a more chilled out level. I can see 'Marigold' quickly becoming a fan favourite and the slight lean into something new while still having a song that completely sounds like Krooked Tongue further proves to me that this is a very special band.
