Explosive emo newcomers Hell Hotel have just put out their first release of 2025 'sweetness.'
Hell Hotel welcome listeners back into their world with their fifth independently released single 'sweetness.' The duo from Brighton have seen success with previous singles including support form BBC Radio 1, while drawing inspiration from the likes of My Chemical Romance, Holding Absence and Static Dress. Hell Hotel are putting their own stamp on the emo genre, and they continue to push the boundaries of what modern-day emo music is. The pair have also had notable performances at UK venues like London's Garage, Scala, and The Underworld. New single 'sweetness.' delves into themes of frustration and inner conflict following a relationship's collapse, capturing the protagonist's numbness due to the severity of the pain. This single captures Hell Hotel's energetic take on the emo genre, the turbulent track combines loud in your face guitars and screams, that deliver all the rawness of modern day emo tracks, while the chorus takes on more of a nostalgic, softer melody, reminding me more of songs from the 2000's. With each track the duo put out they are not only further pushing their sound into something that is completely unique to them but each release seems to get bigger and better.
