fakeyourdeath are back with new original material, 'Shapeshifter'.
Following on from 2024's 'null/void' fakeyourdeath have put out their new offering 'Shapeshifter'.
Combining intense electronic and industrial sounds with post-hardcore influences fakeyourdeath have been making a name for themselves. Influenced by the likes of HEALTH, Nine Inch Nails and Youth Code the duo have become known for their captivating and dramatic live show. New single 'Shapeshifter' is the first piece to come from upcoming second EP '(NON)ENTITY'.
"'Shapeshifter' is a song about regaining power and self-worth after years of masking and pretending to be someone else, just to fit in. It's the story of unmasking and being unashamedly yourself, whatever the consequences may be. With big striking electronic sounds and clear post-hardcore influences 'Shapeshifter' is an intense track that feels fueled by raw aggression. There's a clear dark kind of atmosphere portrayed within the track but it's complimented by the catchiness of the chorus. Flipping between raw hardcore vocals and more melodic moments this track fits perfectly into the modern heavy scene. Tying the whole thing together is large drums that seem to control the track while the electronic sounds deliver a dark almost video game boss battle energy that's woven throughout. If 'Shapeshifter' is anything to go by then we should all be excited for the release of upcoming EP '(NON)ENTITY'.
