Building Prisons debut self titled EP is a piece that is very easy to listen to and the intrumental tracks are very calming. The four piece from Cavan, Republic of Ireland released this debut EP back in 2019 and is the only thing released from the band to date, yet looking at their social media it appears that they may be working on new music. The EP begins with the track 'The Mistakes We Make' which much like the other songs on this EP is very pretty and calming and a piece of music that's just really nice to listen to. Within this first track I could feel hints of sadness and I think without the use of vocals Building Prisons still manage to show a great range of emotion within their music. Songs like 'Agent Orange' and 'Trench' are on the opposite end of the scale and are a bit more fun. 'Agent Orange' is especially upbeat and I think the name fits it perfectly as it feels as though you are listening to a cartoon agent soundtrack. I think this EP is well worth a listen and is something you can really get lost in. Every song stands out and that makes it really enjoyable to experience. My personal favourite song 'Requim' is haunting and much like the other tracks all the instruments compliment each other, it feels like it was all naturally meant to be together. 'Building Prisons' came out on the 14th of June 2019, as that was almost two years ago I am hopeful that we may be able to expect some new music from this band in the not too distant future, if so I will definitely be checking it out.
