fakeyourdeath deliver a four-track electronicore whirlwind with new EP '(NON)ENTITY'. Influenced by artists like HEALTH, Nine Inch Nails or Youth Code, fakeyourdeath are putting their stamp on dark electronic music with their own post-hardcore sound. Known for their captivating and dramatic live shows they've played shows with the likes of Empire State Bastard, Youth Code, Lake Malice, Graphic Nature, Saint Agnes and more. New EP '(NON)ENTITY' has already been furthering the duo's popularity with the first two singles being featured on Alex Baker's Fresh Blood show on Kerrang! Radio and Total Rock. '(NON)ENTITY' deals with themes of self-reflection, the darker side of mental health and anger at the outside world.

"Writing '(NON)ENTITY' was a labour of love and it came at a time when I was ready to leave everything on the table. It's dark, it's painful and it's not very pretty. There's no people pleasing or hiding, there's just the rawness and messiness that comes with being human and for that reason it's a record that I'm really proud of." - (Candi Underwood, Vocalist, fakeyourdeath)

The follow up to 2024's 'null/void' takes on a dark personality revealing some real rawness and pairing it with industrial and intense post-hardcore sounds. Opener 'X/Y' bring the crushing weight of this EP into your ears right from the start. The dark electronicore sound thunders in your ears where modern scratchy screams are met with soft melodic vocals and the intensity of the drums and the electronics keeps the track at a high. From this first track as a listener you know you are in for a treat. Second track 'Shapeshifter' I had heard previously as a single and I loved it then, I love it even more now as part of this bigger body of work. Coming in more catchy and dare I say poppy in the melodies than the first track but it keeps that same crushing intensity. This is definitely the one that would get people singing along and jumping around in a live setting but don't get me wrong the dark energy is still clear throughout. Third track 'R.I.P.M.E' is probably my favourite track within '(NON)ENTITY'. This previously unheard song has a sort of boss battle energy about it but in the way that you know the protagonist will win. It's as if the person within the song is battling their own mental health almost but determined to win. There's a sort of ferocity and attitude in this one that makes it feel more like the light at the end of the tunnel rather than the heavy weight of the previous two tracks. The industrial elements personally would get me up on the dance floor and the beats are definitely taking over. Closing the EP is 'The Parasite That Never Gives In', leaning in a sort of unsettling almost surreal direction this one feels as though the evil thing inside has taken over. It leans way more into the electronics making it feel robotic at times but I think that works perfectly for the story that is being told. The chorus takes a softer tone that's directly met with loud vocals screaming "destroy". As if descending into a sort of insanity everything gets louder and more sounds join and join until eventually the loud chaos reaches the peak of its intensity. This is in my opinion a great track to close out the story and '(NON)ENTITY'. Overall the word I'd use to describe '(NON)ENTITY' has to be intense, whether it's the harsh and raw vocal, the strong dark electronics, the power of the drums everything adds together to create a loud sound that's unique but totally enjoyable. If you're fans of artists like HEALTH or Youth Code I'd definitely recommend giving fakeyourdeath a listen.
